Johnson City is a city in and the county seat of Blanco County, Texas, United States. Its population was 1,627 at the 2020 census. Founded in 1879, it was named for early settler James Polk Johnson, nephew of Sam E. Johnson, Sr., and uncle of US President Lyndon B. Johnson.
